Production & Construction.
'Hobsons Choice' was a script and play set in the 70s about a stubborn shoe maker.
Throughout watching the play, it helped me consider the costume preference, setting and era.
From this I selected two main characters one being the daughter of Mr.Hobson and the other being a worker. This helped me distinguish the age and maturity of each individual, although this brief was to create an accessory I wanted to incorporate the costume to give a broad understanding of the theme.
Throughout the performance alice was seen wearing hats, and within the script it mentioned how she enjoyed sewing therefore I decided to create a lilac beret to demonstrate the characters elegance and authority.
Pictured above is the Potli bag I constructed for victoria...The basis behind this design was related to victoria's love for reading so I found it would be fun to incorporate lettering through my design.
